Reliability Is a Craft
Build trust through clear commitments, visible progress, and early communication.

“Trust grows where promises and reality meet regularly.”
Reliability is more than doing what you said. It includes making commitments that reflect what you can actually deliver. A confident deadline is useful only when it is supported by the time, information, and capacity the work requires.
Make the promise specific. Clarify the expected result, when it is needed, and who owns the next step. Confirm assumptions early, especially when different people use the same words to mean different things.
When circumstances change, communicate before the deadline makes the change obvious. Explain the effect, propose a revised plan, and keep the next update. Reliability includes how well you handle the moments when the original promise becomes impossible.
Put it into practice
Review your open commitments. Clarify one vague promise and give an early update on any delivery that is at risk.
